Classic Boat on sale: a wooden dream from Sweden

A lot of human dreams come from the North...
sailor's ones are no exception.

The beautiful wooden boat in these pictures is a swedish dream a sailor friend is selling, because after the complete and professional restoring of it, a new boat project is taking place in his nights...

needle_5.jpg"Nål och Tråd" - Needle & Tread - is a beautiful Nordisk Kryssare 5½, 10,5 m x 2,12 m, drawn by the designer Arvid Laurin profiling the 5½ S-66 "Gulmar" that done well in the Olimpics Games in the 40s. and built in 1948 at the boatyard Bröderna Eriksson in Strängnäs (Stockholm). It's the only one still in Sweden and it's fantastic for cruising or.. racing, too.

She's varnished honduras mahogny with a pine deck and she's in very good condition. Doesn't leack even at spring. The restored mast is in oregon pine with new stainless rigging. needle_flag.jpg

All running and standing rigging is new. There's a small but well function "kitchen" with freshwater and fridge. The boat is equipped with a inboard diesel Yanmar 1GM and with a new stainless dieseltank. The electric system is new and is powered by one startingbattery and two "usingbatteries" for lamps, fridge, lanterns, etc.
