Ulvödistansen 2007 regatta

One of the fastest editions of the Ulvödistansen regatta was sailed the last week end of August by fifteen skippers and crews and their boats in the fantastic scenario of the north part of the High Coast
On Saturday, an increasing westerly wind drove the boats on the distance of around 17 miles, starting from Hörnskatan (Örnsköldsvik), via Trysunda and finally round Åskäretand over the finishline in Ulvön bay. The fresh wind was measured 16 m/s steady with 10/15' blowing at 20 m/s outside the Nätrafjärden.
After the pricegiving the crews spent the night at the small harbour of Ulvönhamn to have on Sunday a second race, the Ulvön Nord, back to Ö-vik.
The Ulvödistansen is one of the classic regattas in the Höga Kusten organized from the Örnsköldsviks Segelsällskap: please jump at Ö-vik sailing club website, where you can find also all the informations about their several activities for sailing-boats and dinghies all year round.
Right: the old and very nice trophy (the first edition of the regatta is dated 1954) on the deck of "Inez", the (much more older) skärgårdskryssare winner of the 2007 edition.
Please find the ranking of the Ulvödistansen and Ulvö Nord regattas at the "kölbåtar-tävlingsresultat" page in the "kölbåtar" section on the ÖSS - Örnsköldsviks Segelsällskap website.
