Sveriges Miljömål - The annual report De Facto 2007
Each year in June the Environmental Objectives Council presents an evaluation of progress towards the objectives in its de Facto series. This year's report from the Council, de Facto 2007, focuses on the environmental quality objectives in an international perspective.
"The Swedish Parliament has adopted fifteen objectives relating to the quality of Sweden’s environment, most of them to be achieved by the year 2020. The task of monitoring and evaluating progress towards these goals has been entrusted by the Government to the Environmental Objectives Council. In this yearly report, the Council presents a detailed review of the action taken to realize the objectives, based on some twenty individual reports from different bodies represented on the Council. Although the overall picture regarding the prospects of attaining the environmental quality objectives on time makes it clear that major challenges remain, we also see that, for several of these goals, things are moving in the right direction. (...)" Font: Miljömal.nu
The report gives you a vivid portrait of the environment policies Sweden is carrying on, being often in the van vs other european countries...
