Please see what was stated on page 76 of this report about Fish farming, environmental problems and nature conservation:
"... There seems to be a relative large focus on coastal matters not only in favour of coastal protection but also in favour of nature conservation. Bearing in mind that the coastal zone is one of a few original nature types, planners must take great care in what they do - it is often impossible to restore mistakes.
- Nature conservation in this context is not understood to be restricted on nature reserves.
- Nature conservation issues are connected with almost all other planning issues because all of the uses in the coastal zone interfere more or less with nature.
Tourism, housing, coastal defence, wind parks, industry and fish farming are the uses that were discussed at the field visits. Most of the environmental issues connected with these coastal uses are discussed in the respective chapters. However, some issues concerning environmental protection are special and are therefore discussed below. ..."
